I associate the term dialogue with the tradition of Bohm Dialogue, referring first to David Bohm, then others including William Isaacs, author of “Dialogue: The Art Of Thinking Together” and Otto Scharmer.

One of the points of dialogue as a term is to distinguish it from “discussion”. The etymologies of the two terms point to the preference that I and many others have for dialogue over discussion or debate.
