This page is not the template for terms, but gives the definition of the term ‘template’. See the template for terms there.

A template can be

• either for a particular namespace — i.e. a template for all pages in a namespace
• or for a particular term, where entries on that term have a natural structure.

Template pages don't have backlinks, as they are not part of the information structure itself. And of course there can't really be a template for templates, as there are no structures on a page that are common to all pages in this wiki.
