If users enter the sums by hand, there is no need for granularity.
To get a useful drop-down list, the granularity would need to be given as the next power of 10 down from 10% of the minimum, but this is less attractive as an option.

The way salary is entered needs to be in line with the rest of the local or regional employment market.

The system will obviously convert to see whether the two sides fit.
