Question structure: LEVLQ
In a co-living situation, there are different ways to divide the space between those spaces where a single individual can decide on its use, and collective or communal spaces whose use is subject to agreement between several people.
In a total institution, an individual may effectively have no private space beyond somewhere to keep a few possessions. In contrast, in large parts of modern western affluent society, an individual (or nuclear family) have relatively complete say over what they do in their home (after allowing for power dynamics in there).
